Katie Ryan spent most of her life in Alabama before moving to Colorado. She was born in Fairhope and lived in Mobile. Katie Ryan studied Marine Biology at Auburn University and managed a classic cocktail bar and taproom when not in school. Here she developed a love of cocktails and the history of spirits and began to consider a career aligned with her food and beverage passion.
After college she worked at Squid Ink, an eclectic eatery in Mobile, Alabama, where she had many opportunities to expand her culinary and beverage knowledge. Vail seemed like the perfect place to seek out professional opportunities as she looked to make a change out of the heat and humidity and Mountain Standard had everything she was looking for: excellent food program, wine list, and cocktail team. Some of Katie Ryan’s hobbies are movies, books, podcasts, gardening, and making pottery.
The Colorado outdoors provide her the opportunity to hike, ski, and explore with her fiancé Mychal and dog Roci!
